Adam’s Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a sacred mountain in Sri Lanka’s central highlands and a well-known pilgrimage and hiking destination. The climb is especially popular during the pilgrimage season, with visitors ascending the long stairway to reach the summit for sunrise and wide mountain views. The main approach is through Nallathanniya, with Hatton and Maskeliya commonly used as gateways. The surrounding highlands also offer tea estates, Castlereagh Reservoir and scenic mountain roads, so the area can be combined with a wider hill-country stay.
