Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage rainforest in southwestern Sri Lanka and one of the island’s most important biodiversity areas. Guided walks reveal dense tropical forest, endemic birds, plants and wildlife, making Sinharaja a rewarding destination for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Kudawa and the Deniyaya side are two commonly used approaches to the rainforest, each providing access to guides and walking trails. The surrounding wet-zone landscape includes tea and rubber plantations, streams and small villages, making Sinharaja a good addition to a nature-focused journey through southern Sri Lanka.
