Tangalle

Tangalle is a laid-back beach destination on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, known for long sandy bays, rocky coves and a quieter atmosphere. It is well suited to relaxed beach stays and provides easy access to coastal temples, turtle nesting areas and wildlife attractions in the deep south. Rekawa is nearby for coastal nature and turtle-conservation experiences, while Mulkirigala Rock Temple provides an inland cultural excursion. The bays around Tangalle connect west towards Dickwella and the Matara coast and east towards Hambantota, Bundala and Yala, making the town a relaxed base for southern exploration.
